Selecting Griffin-Wright Funeral Service to care for your loved one is a great decision. Those desires expressed during the conference are demonstrated on the day of service. 1926-2024
Henry Griffin was born in 1926 in Clinton, MS. At the age of 19, he joined the U.S. Army, earning two medals upon his honorable discharge: the Occupation of Germany and the World War II Victory Medal. In 1950, Henry received Christ at the Indiana Ave. Pentecostal Church, a pivotal moment that led to his lifelong dedication to his church and community. For over 65 years, he served as a Deacon, embodying the values of his faith and inspiring those around him. In 1951, he was united in holy matrimony with Doris. Their union, filled with joy and love, lasted over 73 years until his peaceful passing. Throughout his life, he worked as a People’s Gas Company Street Foreman, retiring after 31 years. Known for his warm sense of humor and genuine love for people, he found joy in gathering his entire family for home-cooked meals and words of encouragement. Henry Griffin peacefully transitioned at the age of 97, with his family at his bedside and his beloved wife holding his hand. He leaves to cherish his memory of being an amazing husband to his loving wife, Doris, and a father to six children, 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and a mentor to many more loved ones.
